Center for History and New Media
Since 1994, the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University has used digital media and computer technology to democratize history—to incorporate multiple voices, reach diverse audiences, and encourage popular participation in presenting and preserving the past.
ECHO Project
The Exploring & Collecting History Online project uses the Internet to collect and present the recent history of science, technology, and industry.
September 11 Digital Archive
The September 11 Digital Archive uses electronic media to collect, preserve, and present the history of the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania and the public responses to them. This is largest digital repository of 9/11/2001 related materials, and was recently accessioned to the Library of Congress -- the Library's first major digital acquisition.
Hurricane Digital Memory Bank
The Hurricane Digital Memory Bank: Preserving Stories from Katrina, Rita, and Wilma uses electronic media to collect, preserve, and present the stories, images, and responses of the devastating 2005 hurricane season.
Mozilla Digital Memory Bank
The Mozilla Digital Memory Bank collects and permanently preserves digital texts, images, audio, video, personal narratives, and oral histories related to Mozilla, its products, and its community of developers, testers, and users.
George Mason Basketball Digital Memory Bank
The George Mason Basketball Digital Memory Bank uses electronic media to collect, preserve, and present the stories, images, and other files relating to the 2006 GMU basketball season.
NMAJH Registry of Jewish Americana
The National Museum of American Jewish History Registry of Jewish Americana is a digital catalogue of artifacts, documents, and photographs pertaining to American Jewish history.
CIP Oral History Project and Digital Archive
The Critical Infrastructure Protection Oral History Project and Digital Archive documents the history of the nation's efforts to protect what has come to be called critical infrastructure.
ADAM
The Adaptable Digital Archive Manager provides an adaptable digital framework around which anyone can manage their project's assets. (This project is still in development and is due for a major upgrade.)
